Kirkjufell, Iceland

The iconic view of the waterfall Kirkjufellfoss, with the mountain Kirkjufell in the background was one of the sites I was looking forward to seeing and photographing when we visited Iceland this year. I had visions beforehand of catching a sunset here and having a few hours to photograph it from different angles in the almost endless daylight. On the day we were here though, there was no sign of the sun, but the stormy sky made for an atmospheric shot anyway. This is a long exposure of four minutes which gave me some lovely soft clouds and smooth flowing waterfalls.
