Nordurgardi lighthouse in Reykjavik harbour, Iceland

Lighthouse at Reykjavik Harbour

This yellow lighthouse on the harbour wall in Reykjavik, Iceland, is named Nordurgardi. I shot this five minute long exposure on the first day of my recent trip to Iceland with Sally and our good friend John Kosmopoulos. Arriving on an early flight, we met up with John at the airport and headed straight to Reykjavik to spend the day shooting around the church and the harbour area, with the amazing architecture of the concert hall, Harpa. Shots of those will be coming to this blog soon. With so many places to see on this short trip, we only got back to Reykjavik once more for dinner on the last night, but we’ll definitely be going back to see and photograph more of this great city.

Hi

I was wondering if you had an exact location for this lighthouse?
I’d love to see it in person
Laura

Hi Laura,
It’s behind the Harpa concert hall in Reykjavik. https://goo.gl/maps/U5BVXeesFfn If you walk around the right hand side of the building and along the harbour wall, you will see two of these yellow lighthouses. Regards, Ian
